Review a generated note
Check and correct the scribe's draft note, box by box, before you sign it.
Purpose
When the scribe finishes, Keel gives you a draft note. It stays a draft until you sign it. This guide takes you through checking and correcting the draft first.
Before you start
only an Owner or a Doctor can open a consultation note. Front Desk and Finance can't.

Steps
Step 1: Open the draft
Doon the patient's appointment page, find the Consultation card showing Draft note ready, then select
Open note.
You'll seethe note, with AI DRAFT → to be signed by the consulting doctor's name at the bottom.
if you were watching the scribe's progress, Keel opens the note itself when the draft is ready
(Opening note…).
Step 2: Read each box
Doread every box from top to bottom, including the medicines table.
You'll seeeach written box marked Scribe wrote this or You wrote this.
Soyou can tell which words came from the recording and which you typed.
Step 3: Check what needs review
Dolook for the count in the top bar, for example 2 need review. For each flagged medicine, select ✓ to
keep it or ✕ to take it out of the note.
You'll seea flagged medicine marked LOW CONFIDENCE ("the scribe wasn't certain of this line") or
UNVERIFIED SPEAKER ("couldn't confirm who ordered/said this").
flagged lines in other boxes have greyed keys (Per-item review is coming in the next update).
They don't stop you signing, so correct the text yourself if it's wrong.
Step 4: Correct the note
Dotype your correction straight into the box. In the medicines table, fill dose, freq and days for
every medicine.
You'll seethe box's mark followed by typing, unsaved.
medicines listed under Scribe also heard are "Not on the prescription until you add it."
Select + Add to bring one in.
Step 5: Save the draft
Doselect Save draft in the top bar.
You'll seeSaving…, then the box's mark followed by you typed.
Soyour corrections are kept, and the note is still a draft.
this screen doesn't save as you type. If you try to leave with unsaved typing, your browser
asks you first.
Result
You'll seeyour corrections in the note, every medicine with a dose, frequency and duration, and no
need review count left for medicines.
Sothe draft is ready to sign (Sign a note).
If it doesn't work
- If you see: No Open note on the appointment pageThe draft isn't ready, or your role can't open notes (What to do when a draft does not appear)
- If you see: Save failed · try again on the keySelect it again. Hover over it to see why.
- If you see: Not sent. followed by a reading that isn't saved yet: fix it or clear it.Correct that reading in the vitals box, or clear it, then save again
- If you see: The note shows SIGNED and an Amend keyIt's already signed (Correct a signed note)
- Working: The key reads Save draft again and the mark says you typedDone
Limits
review keys for flagged lines outside the medicines box are not available yet.
a note keeps the boxes it was written with. Changing your clinic's template later doesn't
change it.
Checked against the Keel product source and in the live product on 2026-10-11. No step on this page was observed. The draft note, its review marks, the medicines table and saving were not exercised.
