Stop recording
Pause the scribe for a private moment, or end the consult to stop recording and get the draft note.
Purpose
There are two ways to stop the scribe. Pause stops it for a while, for example during a private examination. End consult stops it for good and starts the note.
Steps
Step 1: Pause for a private moment
Doselect Pause.
You'll seeNot recording · paused at followed by the time, and the captions marked HELD.
Sothe microphone stops. Nothing is recorded until you resume.
Step 2: Resume recording
Doselect Resume.
You'll seeRECORDING again. The transcript shows the gap, for example PAUSED 3M 4S, with
Private examination — nothing was recorded in this gap.
Sothe record shows that there was a pause and how long it lasted.
Step 3: End the consult
Doselect End consult, while recording or paused.
You'll seeConsult ended · processing, then the note being written.
Sothe recording stops for good and the draft note is on its way.
if a reading you typed isn't saved, Keel asks first. Select Fix it to go back to it.
Result
You'll seethe processing screen, then the draft note.
If it doesn't work
- If you see: No End consult, only BackThe microphone hasn't started yet. Allow it in your browser, or select Back.
- If you see: You selected End consult twiceNothing extra happens. One note is written.
- If you see: The patient asks for the recording to be deletedWithdraw audio consent and check cleanup
- Working: The processing screen showsDone
Limits
End consult can't be undone from this screen. To add more, edit the draft note.
ending a visit from the Scribe day list (End) is a separate action, and it calls the next
patient in.
Checked against the Keel product source and in the live product on 2026-10-11. No step on this page was observed. Pause, Resume, End consult and the processing screen were not exercised.
