Understand organisations and centres
How your Keel account, its centres (clinic locations) and their settings fit together, and how to add a centre.
Purpose
Your Keel account is your organisation. It holds one or more centres, and a centre is one clinic location. Some settings belong to the whole account and some to one centre. This guide shows which is which, and how to add a centre.
Before you start
when you sign up, Keel creates your account with one centre.
only the Owner can add a centre.
Steps
Step 1: Check which clinic you're in
Doopen Settings and read the line beside your role, after Settings for.
You'll seeyour role, for example Owner, and the name of the clinic you're working in.
select the name to see every clinic you belong to, with Current beside this one.
Soeverything you change in Settings applies to this clinic.
switching to another clinic here is not available yet. With one clinic, the list says
You're a member of this clinic. With more than one, it says Switching between clinics is coming soon.
Step 2: See your centres
Doopen Settings, then select Open on the Team card. Find Centres.
You'll seehow many centres are in your account, and the one you're in marked Current.
Step 3: Add a centre
Doon Team, select + Add centre. Fill in Centre name, check URL slug, choose Type, and add City,
State and Pincode if you have them. Select Add centre.
You'll seeAdded " followed by the centre's name, then — it'll appear below.
Sothe new location is part of your account, and you can invite people to it.
URL slug is filled in from the name. It can only use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens.
Result
these are set for each centre: clinic details, opening hours and the team.
these are set once for the whole account: plan and billing. With more than one centre,
the Clinic page shows Managed at the organization level.
You'll seeon Setup, each step is marked Whole clinic (your whole account) or This branch (the centre
you're in).
If it doesn't work
- If you see: No + Add centre on TeamOnly the Owner can add centres. Ask your Owner (unavailable actions)
- If you see: Slug "…" is already used by another centre in this org.Change URL slug (step 3)
- If you see: You don't have permission to add centres.Ask your Owner (unavailable actions)
- If you see: The centre isn't added and the message mentions a limitYour plan's centre limit is reached. See who can change the plan (see also)
- Working: The new centre is listed under CentresDone
Limits
a trial account can have 1 centre.
switching between clinics is not available yet.
Checked against the Keel product source and in the live product on 2026-10-09. The Settings header and clinic list, the Centres list on Team and the Whole clinic and This branch tags on Setup were observed. Adding a centre, its messages and the clinic list with more than one clinic were not exercised.
