Retire a service
Switch off a service you no longer offer so nobody can book it, and switch it back on later if you need to.
Purpose
When you stop offering a service, switch it off. Agents stop offering it, and your team sees it as retired. The service stays on your rate card, so you can switch it back on later.
Before you start
only the clinic Owner can switch a service off or on.
a service can't be deleted. Switching it off is how you retire it.
Steps
Step 1: Open the rate card
Doon Today, select Rate card. Keep SHOWING on Everyone.
You'll seean ACTIVE switch on each service.
Step 2: Switch it off
Doswitch off the service's ACTIVE switch.
You'll seethe row dims and reads Off — nobody can book it. It moves to the Off tab.
Soyour Front Office agents stop offering it. Your team sees Retired — can't be booked.
Step 3: Switch it back on
Doto offer it again, switch its ACTIVE switch back on.
You'll seethe row's usual status returns, for example Agents can offer this.
switching off and on doesn't undo your approval. You don't need to review it again.
a service without a price can't be switched on. Add a price first.
Result
You'll seethe service is under the Off tab and no longer under Front desk agents.
If it doesn't work
- If you see: No ACTIVE switchSwitch SHOWING to Everyone. If the rate card says VIEW ONLY, ask the clinic Owner.
- If you see: Set a price first — agents can’t offer a service they can’t quote.Add a price (Create or edit a service), then switch it on
- If you see: Couldn’t confirm whether the service was switched offCheck the row. Its status shows whether the change was saved.
- If you see: Could not update. Try again.Try again
- Working: Off — nobody can book itDone
Limits
a switched-off service still appears in each doctor's view, marked Off — nobody can book it.
if two services share a name, switching one off clears the Same name as warning on the
other.
switched-off services don't count toward the 200 services agents can be offered.
Checked against the Keel product source and in the live product on 2026-10-09. The Active switch column, the Off tab and the Off status for the Owner, and the Retired note other roles see, were observed. Switching a service off or on and the error messages were not exercised.
