Why booking was refused
Find out why Keel wouldn't book a visit from the desk, checking each cause in the order you'd meet it.
Purpose
Use this when Keel won't book a visit from Book a visit. Work down the list in order and fix the first ✗ you find. If an agent couldn't book a patient, see why a slot is missing instead.
Checklist
- If you see: New appointment opens Book a visit, not another pageYour role can't book. Owner, Doctor and Front Desk can. Change roles and centre access
- If you see: A patient is chosen under PatientSearch by phone or name, or add them with + New patient. Book an appointment
- If you see: Doctor shows doctors, not No doctors added yet or Couldn't load the doctor listAsk your Owner to add a doctor, or select Retry →. Invite a teammate
- If you see: There's no line under Book visit such as Choose a doctor to book or Add a service, or type an amount, to bookDo what the line says. A custom charge needs an amount above zero. Add services
- If you see: You don't see Pick a date and time in the future.Choose a later time
- If you see: You don't see DOCTOR NOT IN, AWAY, TIME BLOCKED or NO SCHEDULE YETPick another time, or select Book anyway. For NO SCHEDULE YET, set the doctor's weekly sessions.
- If you see: You don't see That doctor already has a visit overlapping this time…Select a NEXT FREE time, or choose another doctor. Book anyway can't override this.
- If you see: You don't see This patient already has a visit booked at exactly this time…They're already booked, often by an earlier try. Check before retrying a booking
- If you see: You don't see This visit is now … minutes…The clinic's service times changed. Keel has updated the length. Check the time, then select Book visit again.
- If you see: You don't see Choose a doctor for this visit — this centre books by doctor.Choose a doctor under Doctor
- If you see: You don't see Could not reach the server… or Could not book appointment. Try again.The booking may have saved. Check before retrying a booking. If it keeps happening, your free trial may have ended: understand trial expiry.
- Working: All of the aboveKeel books the visit and opens it
Checked against the Keel product source and in the live product on 2026-10-10. The Book a visit form with no patient chosen, and the doctor-not-in warning with Book anyway, were observed. The lines under Book visit, the messages after a refused booking, and opening the form without booking permission were not exercised.
